STRATEGIC PATHWAYS

OUR FIVE PATHWAYS

In the initial phase of the planning process, the strategic planning team  utilized surveys and focus groups to gather feedback from the broader Cheltenham community; ultimately over 2000 stakeholders responded.  The team unpacked the surveys and used themes and commonalities within the data to define five strategic pathways.  Working groups with expertise in each pathway coalesced and drafted statements of strategic intent for each.   These statements represent where we want to be as a school community and indicate a shift from where we are today in how we define student success, develop curriculum, support professional learning, engage students, and partner with our community. It is important to note that the intent of the plan is not to solve a problem or fix a failure. Rather, it serves as a necessary next step forward in our evolution as one of the finest public school systems in the United States. 
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
GOAL:
CSD will increase equity in achievement to ensure that all students, without exception, grow, learn, and succeed to the best of their ability.

CURRICULUM
​AND INSTRUCTION

GOAL:
CSD will collaboratively design and implement a vertically and horizontally aligned curriculum that supports ALL students’ learning experiences,
K-12. We do this through meaningful lessons that engage technology and real-world experiences, as well as student passions, backgrounds, and cultures.  


HOLISTIC EXPERIENCES
GOAL:
All community members feel valued, comfortable, understood, and safe about themselves, their environment, and their relationships. The CSD community works together to build a compassionate and trusting culture that fosters healthy relationships and practices principals of sustainability.  

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
GOAL:
CSD values ongoing learning experiences for all of its employees. These professional learning experiences are collaborative and intentionally planned, systematic, and data-driven, inclusive and culturally competent, and individualized to meet the needs of all staff.  Professional learning aligns with CSD's goals and creates measurable achievement for staff and students.

COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT
GOAL:
CSD creates open and positive relationships through relevant and targeted communications with all communities.
